Relevant Experience
I currently serve as a Senior Account Executive at The Power Group, an award-winning crisis communications and all-female public relations agency based in Dallas. Leveraging my background in breaking news, I thrive under pressure, crafting impactful stories and securing targeted media coverage. While I work across a variety of industries, I am especially passionate about partnering with nonprofit clients, translating complex issues into compelling narratives that inspire action, awareness, and support. Much like my time in news, no two days are the same, and I embrace the opportunity to continuously learn while amplifying voices that matter.
Below, you’ll find examples of recent projects that reflect this work and demonstrate my approach to storytelling and media relations.

A Pivot to Purpose: Brian Slye's Decision to Lead the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas

I worked closely with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas through a pivotal leadership transition, helping guide communications during the appointment of a new CEO. Through strategic media outreach, we secured dedicated coverage across D Magazine, D CEO, Dallas Business Journal, DFW 501(c) Business Journal and Lakewood Advocate, ensuring the announcement reflected both the organization’s legacy and its future vision.

Fuego Tortilla Grill to Open in Fayetteville, Arkansas
This project was a full-circle moment for me. Fuego Tortilla Grill, a fast-casual taco concept that fueled many late-night study sessions during my college years at Texas A&M, became a client as they prepared to expand into new markets, including their first locations outside of Texas.

I led media outreach for the Fayetteville, Arkansas opening, securing national and trade coverage while also driving local placement across major broadcast, print and digital outlets. This approach reflects my ability to translate a strong pitch across markets, demonstrating that compelling storytelling is what opens doors. Since partnering with Fuego, I’ve supported announcements for three additional locations, highlighting the brand’s continued growth and momentum.

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas at Richardson to reopen its facilities with increased capacity

As Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas celebrated its 60th anniversary, I helped share the reopening of its revitalized Richardson Club, an important milestone for both the organization and the community it serves.
The expanded facility allows the Club to serve more youth and families, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to education, mentorship and opportunity. Securing coverage for moments like this reflects my passion for highlighting nonprofit growth, longevity and the tangible impact these organizations have at the neighborhood level.

'A promise of God': The Salvation Army is breaking ground on a 21-acre campus in Dallas

Leading media outreach for The Salvation Army of North Texas during the groundbreaking of its new 21-acre campus was one of the most meaningful projects I’ve worked on. This first-of-its-kind initiative will address homelessness, addiction and poverty in our region, bringing critical services together on one campus.

I led this account independently, securing an exclusive feature with The Dallas Morning News that centered on the lived experience of Tammy Finney, LCSW, and the impact of the organization’s work. Helping share Tammy’s story, one rooted in resilience, service, and hope, was a powerful reminder of why mission-driven storytelling matters. This project brought together my background in news, my passion for nonprofit work, and my commitment to amplifying voices that deserve to be heard.

Meet the 13 DFW-Small Businesses on Season 12 of PBS Series START UP

One of the most meaningful projects I've worked on was leading the media outreach for START UP, a television series showcasing local entrepreneurs and startups. Season 12, only the second season to be filmed entirely in one market, was shot in the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Over the course of two months, I secured coverage in outlets such as NBC5, FOX4, CW33, The Dallas Morning News, Dallas Voice, Fort Worth Inc., CultureMap, Dallas Innovates, and Fort Worth Report. Airing nationwide, START UP highlights the resilience of American small business owners and inspires others to pursue their dreams. It was an honor to contribute to sharing these impactful stories, combining my media experience with a passion for storytelling.

In my role, I also help clients build credibility and recognition in their industries by nominating them for awards. For example, two of my clients were named to the 2024 Dallas Business Journal’s C-Suite Leaders Awards. This involves identifying opportunities, crafting compelling nominations and highlighting their accomplishments to showcase their leadership and impact. It’s rewarding to help clients achieve this level of recognition, often for those who may not brag about themselves, further solidifying their place as industry leaders.

From the Battlefield to the Fairways: PXG Dallas Fitter Helps Purple Heart Recipient Find the Perfect Fit

One of the aspects of my job that I truly enjoy is the opportunity to showcase inspiring stories, such as how PXG supports veterans in finding solace on the golf course.

Sgt. Leonard Anderson's journey took a remarkable turn during his second tour in Iraq, where an IED left him with physical injuries and emotional scars, ultimately earning him a Purple Heart Award. His passion for golf played a pivotal role in his recovery, providing him with both physical and mental stimulation. However, finding clubs that catered to his unique needs proved challenging. Jay McIlroy, one of the experienced fitters and certified club builders at PXG Dallas, did not hesitate to help Sgt. Anderson, taking the time to understand his unique needs. Jay went the extra mile, taking the clubs home after work to adjust club lengths, lofts, and lies to accommodate Sgt. Anderson’s prosthetics, stance and swing. The result was a set of golf clubs that felt like a natural extension of Sgt. Anderson’s body, allowing him to regain his confidence and continue his path to recovery.

Drafting case studies like this one allows me to leverage my creativity and journalistic background to bring meaningful stories to light.
